At this production scale, companies typically choose cost-effective and easily processed general-purpose plastics, such as polypropylene (PP), ABS resin, and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). These materials account for over 70% of the plastic used in automotive interior parts. Specifically:

 

PP, due to its low density, good chemical resistance, and low cost, is widely used in door panels, dashboard frames, and other components;

ABS possesses high rigidity and a good surface gloss, and is often used in areas requiring high-quality feel, such as center console panels and decorative parts;

PVC is mostly used for soft-touch coverings, such as slush-molded dashboard surfaces, offering a soft feel and high plasticity.

 

In production, molds mostly adopt single-cavity or double-cavity designs, and injection molding process parameters tend to be stable, but large-scale automated production lines have not yet been established. Companies are more focused on improving the molding stability of materials and increasing yield rates to reduce unit costs.
