The charge port cover base is the structural housing surrounding the EV charging interface. It is similar in function to a fuel filler housing but includes additional design features to accommodate the charging connector and wire harness.
With the rapid growth of electric vehicles, demand for this component continues to increase.
Our factory has extensive experience in manufacturing charge port cover bases. We operate a 3,000 m² workshop with 35 injection molding workers. We use materials such as modified PP, PP reinforced with 10% glass fiber, and TPV, depending on application requirements.
PP+GF provides higher structural strength, while TPV offers improved flexibility and impact absorption. Both single injection molding and two-shot over-molding processes are available.
The structure includes a hinge mounting seat, stopper features, and latch slots. Openings are designed for wire harness routing and charging connector access.
Assembly is achieved using a hinge pin, spring, or snap-fit retainers. A key focus is water and dust sealing performance, as the charging interface contains high-voltage components. Any water or dust ingress may pose a safety risk. Our design, combined with sealing components, ensures reliable protection.
Vibration resistance and low noise performance are also critical, as the component must remain quiet and stable under road conditions.
Weather resistance and UV resistance are required to ensure long-term durability in outdoor environments.
We provide customized development through our in-house R&D team. Sample development based on customer drawings typically takes 90 to 150 days.
Our factory is IATF 16949 certified, and all products are inspected before shipment. Free samples are available (shipping cost paid by the customer). The minimum order quantity is 1,000 pieces.
