1. Functional Hinge for EV Charging Port Cover

The charging inlet door hinge connects the EV charging port cover to the base structure. Its function is similar to a fuel filler door hinge, but it has additional requirements due to the operating environment.

Because EV charging covers are frequently exposed to direct sunlight, enhanced UV resistance is required.

Our factory has extensive experience in manufacturing charging inlet door hinges. We operate a 3,000 m² workshop with 35 injection molding workers. We use PA66 reinforced with 20–50% glass fiber. Higher glass fiber content provides increased mechanical strength and rigidity. Both single injection molding and TPV two-shot over-molding processes are available.

2. Long-Life Performance for Frequent Charging Use

The hinge is assembled with the base using a hinge pin, spring, and damper.

A key requirement is long cycle life, as EV charging covers may be opened frequently, in some cases daily. The hinge must maintain reliable performance over extended service periods.

High toughness, fatigue resistance, and torsional strength are essential. Smooth rotation without sticking or noise is also critical to ensure a premium user experience. A poorly performing hinge may cause sticking or noise, reducing perceived product quality.

3. UV Resistance and Quality Assurance

UV resistance and weather durability are particularly important, as the charging inlet door is often exposed to sunlight and outdoor conditions. Our PA66-based material system provides strong resistance to UV degradation and long-term aging.

Our factory is IATF 16949 certified, and every product is fully inspected before shipment. Free samples are available (shipping cost paid by the customer). The minimum order quantity is 1,000 pieces, with at least 300 pieces per size. Monthly production capacity ranges from 1 to 3 million pieces, ensuring stable supply.
